Mary A. Thoma, 84, of Sioux City died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Paul-Louis Arts and the Rev. Alfred E. McCoy officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Thoma was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Murdock, Minn., the daughter of John B. and Georgina (Weber) Fleming. She moved to Sioux City at the age of four. She graduated from Central High School.

She married Robert L. Thoma on Sept. 1, 1937, in Sioux City. She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert J. and Charlotte Thoma of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Carol A. and Don Zabel of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Thoma of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, James of Lincoln, Neb.; four sisters, Rita Skuya of Sioux City, Rosalie Smokey of Daphne, Ala., Sheila Gunderson of Glendale, Ariz., and Patricia Watkins of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on Nov. 19, 1996 in Phoenix, Ariz.; and a son, Jerry.

Pallbearers will be Jay Klosterman, Brian Thoma, Shane Yates, Travis and Nichole Smith and Paul Beaumier
