8 April 2008Dorothy Mae Horn, 68, of Sioux City left this world Saturday, April 5, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Winnebago Tribal Cemetery, Winnebago, Neb. Visitation will be until service time Wednesday, with a supper being served at 6 p.m. and prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Winnebago Wake and Burial Program in Winnebago.
Dorothy was born Sept. 18, 1939, in North Dakota, the daughter of Carroll and Jane (Koplin) Sansen. She grew up on a farm in rural Aurelia, Iowa, where she was educated.
She married Edwin W. Horn in October 1967. He died March 24, 1989. She held various jobs throughout her early lifetime, but was primarily a homemaker to her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard, Jackie, Lottie, Allan, Kyndra, Kourtney, Melvin Jr. and Glenn; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and children, Robert and Kandyce.
