5 October 2008SIOUX CITY -- Robert W. Pedersen, 69, of Sioux City died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a one-year illness with cancer.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Chaplain Mike Inman of Hospice of Siouxland officiating. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Robert was born Jan. 6, 1939, in Moville, Iowa, to Elmer and Mary (Kerr) Pedersen. He grew up in Moville and graduated from Moville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He married Gloria Schultz. After she passed away, he married Rose (Blades) Williams. They were married for more than 25 years. Robert was an auto body repairman and worked for various businesses in the Sioux City area, the last being Great Plains International.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Wallace and her husband, Eugene of Boca Raton, Fla., and Wendy Dines of Sioux City; a son, Darren Pedersen; a stepdaughter, Susan Brotherson; two brothers, James Pedersen of Omaha, and Harry Pedersen of Iowa; four grandchildren, Mariah, Jessica, Jennifer and Katie; and a great-granddaughter, Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; and an infant daughter.
