Thomas E. Hill, 54, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness. He gave the gift of life as an organ donor.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gregory Hanneman officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Monahan Post 64. The body will be cremated following the service Friday. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Thomas was born March 11, 1951, in Omaha, the son of Walter C. and Teresa R. (Goralski) Hill. He graduated from Heelan High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.

He married Mary L. Johnson on Oct. 26, 1997, in Sioux City. He was employed with Soo Tractor Sweeprake Company for more than 30 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Monahan Post 64. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Sioux City; two sons, Thomas W. Hill of Chicago and Erik Hill and his fiancee, Mary Jo Klimeck of Sioux City; a daughter, Nicki Hill of Sioux City; a stepson, Thomas Munson of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Don and Fern Lipinski of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Veronica and Kay Pocklington of Hawarden, Iowa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Norma Johnson of Sioux City; two brothers-in-law and their wives, David and Carolyn Johnson of Sioux City and Dan and Joanne Johnson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a grandson, Trevor Hill; and a stepgranddaughter, Nikki Serrano.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandmother, Veronica Goralski.

Pallbearers will be Thomas W. Hill, Erik Hill, Thomas Munson, David Johnson, Dan Johnson and Clark Hummel.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
