SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Marlowe "Bus" Greene Jr., 81, of South Sioux City died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at his residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Kruse officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Bus was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Sioux City, the son of Harry M. and Helen B. (Huffman) Greene. He graduated from high school in South Sioux City and attended the University of Nebraska. For two years, he received Grand Champion Hereford White Face at the 4-H Dakota County Fair.

He married Viola M. Tebben on March 5, 1943, in South Sioux City.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church and a former member of IOOF Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Mary "Pat" Elwyn Carr of Cherryvale, Kan., and Susan "Susie" and Roger Monk of South Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Stone of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Terry, Kerri, Sherri, Rosalind, Richelle and Travis; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin J. Stone.

Pallbearers will be Jim and Chris Meier, Greg Tesch, Gary Boehle, Travis Gill and Doug Garwood.
