20 April 2005Richard H. "Dick" Bramble, 61, of Gardner, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away March 16, 2005, in Tucson, Ariz., where he and his wife had been wintering for three months.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City.
Mr. Bramble was born July 4, 1943, in Sioux City. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1961.
He married Carole Carter in 1963. They had three children, Theresa Martin of Aurora, Colo., Jeffrey of Danville, Calif., and Debbie Elder of North Glenn, Colo. He served in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Seoul, Korea, from 1969 to 1971.
He was married to Connie Bothell of Iowa City, Iowa, in 1974. They had one child, Christina Bramble of San Francisco, Calif. He worked for U.S. West (Northwestern Bell), retiring in 1990. He then worked for Carnegie Group Inc., retiring in 1999. The couple moved from Littleton, Colo., to Gardner, Colo., where they built their log home.
He served on the board of directors of the Huerfano County Fire District and was active in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, both in Gardner. He also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed hunting, camping and the couple participated in Mountain Man Rendezvous.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; four children; his mother, Lois M. Nichols; and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold L. Bramble; his stepfather, M.V. "Nick" Nichols; and grandparents.
