SALIX, Iowa -- Clifford "Tub" Huot, 78, of Salix died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, with the Rev. Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Scriptural prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Clifford Cyril Huot was born March 5, 1927, in Salix, the son of Raoul and Marie Louise (Hubert) Huot. He was raised in Salix and attended St. Joseph Catholic School.

After studying and working in Chicago and Alaska, he returned home and married Virginia "Pat" Moore on Nov. 7, 1959, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. For the next 46 years, they raised their family and farmed near Salix.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served on the Salix Farmer's Elevator board.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; three sons, Richard of Seattle, Wash., Keith of Maine, and Hubert and his wife, Shelly, of Salix; three daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Paul Petrignani of Easton, Pa., Julie and Chris Case of Salix, and Renee and Norman Martin of Buffalo, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Dorothy Case, Jeff Huot, Nick Matheny, Christian Case, Evan Case, Amanda Huot, Spencer Martin, Carter Martin, Alex Petrignani, Gavin Huot and Adam Petrignani; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Stone of Geraldine, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, DeAnn and Christine "Tator;" two sisters, Marie Gramenz and Roseanna Brechwald; and four brothers, Roger, Hubert, Raymond and Maurice Huot.
