Louise E. Stoltze Casper of Sioux City was called to heaven on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Sunrise Retirement Community following a lengthy illness. At her side was her husband holding her hand.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Russell Senstad officiating. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and buried in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (formerly Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel).

Louise "Bunny" was born to Carl and Hulda (Kern) Stoltze on Jan. 8, 1921, in Sioux City. She was the third of eight children. She was baptized on Feb. 29, 1921, at St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 26, 1935.

She married Fred Casper on Jan. 7, 1942. They had one son and adopted two boys and a girl. They also fostered several other children throughout the years. She loved her family first and foremost. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening and craft painting.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Fred Casper; three sons, David of California, Richard and his wife, Carolyn of Oklahoma, and Steve and his wife, Diane of Sioux City; a daughter, Mae Mech and her husband, George of Davenport, Iowa; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Stoltze and his wife, Cora of Hinton, Iowa, and Robert Stoltze and his wife, Elaine of Charter Oak, Iowa; four sisters, Hilda O'Connell of Sioux City, Edna Hoffman of Sioux City, Eva Wickert of West Point, Neb,. and Ida Wilson of Sioux City; many nieces and nephews; and several greatnieces and greatnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry; a granddaughter, Sara; a daughter-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a niece, Diane; a greatniece, Jill; and three nephews, Tom, Mark and Billy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Hour, Diabetes Foundation or Hospice of Siouxland.
