SERGEANT BLUFF -- Marguerite Ann Camp, 77, of Sergeant Bluff died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at a Sioux City nursing home following a five-year battle with cancer.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Patricia Roberts, deacon with Calvary Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodbury Township Cemetery, Sergeant Bluff. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Marguerite was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Sioux City, the daughter of Herbert L. and Iona Vivian (Bristow) Spencer. She was raised in Sioux City and attended Central High School.

She married Harold E. Whitlock in 1945. She later married Martin A. Camp on April 25, 1959, and moved to Sergeant Bluff, where she lived until 2004. After she had to leave her apartment in Sergeant Bluff, she lived at the Floyd House.

She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, a 36-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary for the George Nelson Post 662 and served in various positions within that organization. She had donated to the Siouxland Blood Bank for many years. She enjoyed fresh flowers, gardening, music and genealogy. She also was an avid reader.

She is survived by two daughters, Delores and her husband, Roy Soule of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Donna Whitlock of Sergeant Bluff; two grandchildren, Teresa Soule of San Antonio, Texas, and Gregory Soule and his wife, Joyce of Carter Lake, Iowa; four great-grandchildren, Jaqueline and Jessica Soule and Mercedes and Noel Bergenske; a brother and his wife, Herbert W. and Barbara Spencer of Chinese Camp, Calif.; a sister, Arlene Brubaker of Salem, Ore.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a grandson, Douglas Soule; and a brother-in-law, Fred Brubaker.

Pallbearers will be Charles Woodford, Robert Bartling, Dean Shroll, Dan Pecaut, Dan Erickson and Mike Thompson.
