Kenneth W. Brenton, 83, of New Braunfels, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Compass Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Ken was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Burlington, Wis., the son of Charles and Helen (Jahnke) Brenton. He graduated from Burlington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Rosemary Rueter on Nov. 18, 1944, in Burlington. She died Oct. 27, 1980, in Sioux City. He worked for Murphy Products Feed Mill. He moved to Sioux City in 1964, to manage the new plant in Sergeant Bluff. It was later sold to Hubbard Feed and her retired from there in 1984.

He married Margaret Brenton on March 9, 1981, in Sioux City. She died April 9, 1994, in Lake Mills, Wis.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughter and her husband, Barb and Tris Jernberg of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Bob and Diane Brenton of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Rhonda and Dave Holmberg of Sioux City, John and Kim Davis of Lincoln, Neb., Terry and Amy Jernberg of Beresford, S.D., Patti and Troy Reistroffer of Crete, Neb., Dr. Jeff and Nikki Jernberg of Sioux City and Joel Brenton of New Braunfels, Texas; great-grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Holmberg, Brenton and Peyton Davis, Spencer Aspleaf, Skyler Jernberg, Corey Porta, Blake and Karlee Reistroffer, Bailee, Brook and Breanna Jernberg; two stepdaughters, Peggy and her husband, Wayne Kemmerer of Louisville, Ky., and Jane Brenton of Lake Mills, Wis.; three step-grandchildren; six great-step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; seven brothers; and two sisters.
