ANTHON, Iowa -- Maxine L. Feddersen, 88, of Anthon died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Holstein Good Samaritan Center in Holstein, Iowa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Sheryl Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Karl Harman officiating, at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Maxine Lucille Feddersen was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Max and Eva (Wheeler) Spiese. She grew up and was educated in Battle Creek.

On Aug. 5, 1936, in Sioux City, Maxine was united in marriage to Lester Feddersen of Battle Creek. Maxine spent most of her life raising her six children on their farm. Maxine and Lester moved to their farm near Anthon in 1952. Lester died March 11, 2001.

Maxine and her husband enjoyed dancing and playing cards with their family and friends, her many shopping trips with her sisters and especially visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Rebecca Lodge of Battle Creek and the Anthony Women's Club for many years. Lester and Maxine were member of First United Methodist Church of Anthon.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include four sons and their wives, Bob and Marci of Hornick, Larry and Marge of Anthon, Vince and Kathy of Sioux City and Phillip and Peggy of Hornick; two daughters, Marlene Albers of Battle Creek and Dianna Lillie and her husband, Ray, of Mankato, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Katherine Kisenmacher of Holstein, Mildred Ernst and her husband, Ray, of Ida Grove, Iowa, Becky Schmidt and her husband, Roger, of Holstein, Bonita Diamond and her husband, Don, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Alice Miller and her husband, Earl, of Santa Monica, Calif., and Linda Mattson and her husband, Bob, of Gardenville, Nev.; along with many nieces and nephews and many neighbors and good friends.

Along with her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother; a brother; and a sister.
