BRONSON, Iowa -- Diane King, 58, of Bronson died Sunday, July 2, 2006, following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Anthon, Iowa.

Diane was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Sioux City, the daughter of Charles Wallace "Bus" and Maxine (Lake) Hanson. She lived in Bronson all her life, attending schools in Bronson and graduating from Lawton-Bronson High School in 1964.

She married Larry King on April 24, 1965, in Sioux City. He died April 24, 1999. Together, they owned King's Locker in Lawton. After her husband's death, she worked in Bronson at JR's Bar and Grill and the Bronson General Store.

She enjoyed crafts, especially sewing, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Kin King of Bronson; a son, Rob King of Sioux City; a brother, Darrell Hanson of Armour, S.D.; two sisters, Bonita and her husband, Marlyn Korsley of Tripp, S.D., and Vickie and her husband, Gary Wren of Tripp, S.D.; a special friend, Paul Corrie of Bronson; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion and dog, Coco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a infant son, Tommy; and a brother, Donnie Hanson.
