Alyce (Surmack) Thomas, 84, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, March 18, 2005, at her residence in Monroe, N.C.

Memorial services were held March 21 at the residence.

Mrs. Thomas was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Sioux City, the daughter of the late Victor and Luba Surmack. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Alex Thomas, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Julie Tobiassen of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda Jensen of Monroe, N.C., Nancy Moyle of Castle Rock, Colo., Mary Ellen Mann of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Steven A. Thomas of Colorado Springs; sisters, Julia Albeck, Mary Carney and Lena Slowiaczek, all of Sioux City; and grandchildren, Breck Jensen Hinson, Eric Jensen and Julie Wymore.
