SERGEANT BLUFF -- Glenn E. Holley, 54, of Sergeant Bluff died unexpectedly Saturday, July 8, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Visitation with be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Waterbury Funeral Service, 400 Fourth Street, Sergeant Bluff.

Glenn was born July 6, 1952, in Huntington, W.Va., to George and Alma L. (Chapman) Holley. He married Kimberly Stabe on March 13, 2003, in Elk Point, S.D.

Throughout his life, he was an avid Harley rider and was a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and ABATE. He traveled extensively his whole life, having lived in almost every state at one time or another. He also spent six months in the South Pole, working for NASA. He served in the U.S. Air Force, but for a majority of his life, he enjoyed his career as a licensed master electrician. He always told wonderful stories about his experiences in the many places he had lived and visited.

He was a very helpful person. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends, family and even slight acquaintances. He never once met a stranger and could befriend virtually anyone. He was active with the Red Cross and spent a three week period in Louisiana, helping with Hurricane Katrina relief in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Holley; a stepdaughter, Kallie Shinkunas of Sloan, Iowa; his mother and father, Alma and George Holley of Ohio; two sisters, Dreama and her husband, Bob Flinchum, of West Virginia, and Jeannie Mangus of Ohio; a daughter and her husband, Tamara and Paul Griggs of Florida; two grandchildren, Courtney and Gage Griggs of Florida; and several nieces and nephews
