SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Gary L. Hanson, 47, of South Sioux City died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Eastview Cemetery, Allen, Neb., with the Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Mr. Hanson was born March 7, 1957, in Sioux City, the son of Warren L. and Lois E. (Bock) Hanson. He married Vickie L. Gray on July 12, 1978, in Dakota City. He was employed with Smurfit Stone Container Corp. for 28 years until retiring due to illness.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie; a son, Cody of South Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Tina and Edy Guevara of South Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Tim and Elizabeth Hanson of South Sioux City; his father, Warren of Omaha; two grandchildren, Christian and Gabriel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Hanson.
