Margaret A. Best, 91, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Schmidt of Concordia Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Best was born July 31, 1914, near Hoskins, Neb., the daughter of Walter and Esther (Hanson) Linn. She attended country schools.

She married Marvin Best in Dec. 31, 1934, in Pierce, Neb. He died Jan. 23, 2000, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, going to the Mary Treglia Community House with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Jim D. and Barbara Best of Sioux City; three daughters, Carol and her husband, John Gildea, of Lompoc, Calif., Linda and her husband, David Doohen, of Lompoc, Calif., and Susan Cutter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She could always remember the birthdays of all her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Roland, Edwin, Leonard and Walter Linn Jr.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
