Violet I. Thomas, 76, of Sioux City died Wednesday, November 26, 1997 at Matney Westside Manor following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Morey of Leif Erikson Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomas was born July 3, 1921 in Beresford, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Mary (Cronabull) Keller. She was raised in the Beresford area and came to Sioux City in 1948.

She married Arthur E. Thomas on June 15, 1948 in Elk Point, South Dakota. He died September 4, 1973, in Sioux City.

She was a Methodist.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Doug and Sherry and Terry and Cynthia, all of Sioux City, a daughter, Diane Harper of Sioux City, a sister, Amanda Burton of Sioux City, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and an infant daughter.
