Old Resident Dies Of A Sudden Attack

Mrs. Georgia Dow Passes Away From Heart Failure In Early Morning

Mrs. Georgians Dow, wife of Collin Dow, who had resided in Sioux City for the last 25 years and was widely acquainted here, died this morning at 5:20 o’clock, succumbing to a sudden attack of heart trouble.

Mrs. Dow, who was in the habit of rising early in the morning, was up at her usual hour of 5 o’clock this morning. Shortly after she called her two daughters and husband to her side and complained of great difficulty in breathing. She died within a short time afterwards.

Her husband, four daughters and one son survive. The daughters are Miss Minnie and Miss Mamie Dow of Sioux City; Mrs. W. E. Oxdy of Laurel, Nebraska and Mrs. G. W. Ritter of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Charles S. Dow of Sioux City, is the surviving son.

Mrs. Dow was born in Wheaton, Illinois, on October 6, 1846. She came to Sioux City in about the year of 1887.

The funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Dow – The funeral services of Mrs. Collin Dow will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at 1215 Jennings Street, Rev. Wallace M. Hamilton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery.
