Baby Girl Dies From Burns Received In Explosion

Elsie Wagner, the 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Wagner, 1212 ½ Wall Street, died at 10 o’clock Sunday morning at the German Lutheran hospital as the result of burns suffered when an alcohol heater exploded Saturday afternoon. Meta Wagner, a cousin of the baby, is recovering from her injuries sustained in the explosion.

The infant had been left in the care of the older girl on Saturday afternoon while Mrs. Wagner, who had been ill for some time previous, went out for a walk. The accident occurred at 3 o’clock. The wood alcohol can, which Miss Wagner was emptying, was blown open and also the stove.

The funeral will be held at the residence at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery.
