J. P. Sloan Dies At Sibley

Former Resident of Sloan, Iowa, Had Lived Here Twelve Years

J. P. Sloan, 67 years old, 1623 West Fifteenth Street, died early yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. T. Steiner, of Sibley, Iowa of Kidney trouble. Mr. Sloan underwent an operation two years ago and submitted to surgical treatment again six weeks ago at Rochester, Minnesota. He returned home last week apparently in improved health and went to his daughter’s home for a visit.

Mr. Sloan had lived in Sioux City for the last twelve years, moving here from Sloan, Iowa where he lived for about fifteen years. He was employe of the Curtis Sash and Door Company.

Surviving are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. J. A. Mercure, Lake Benton, Minnesota, Mrs. E. F. Bare, Jr., Pierson, Iowa; Mrs. W. H. Fouke and Miss Bertha Sloan of Sioux City and Mrs. Steiner; two sons, Raymond Sloan of Youngstown, Ohio and W. L. Sloan of Sioux City and three brothers, T. O. Sloan, M. L. Sloan and G. N. Sloan of Sioux City.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the residence. Burial will be in the Graceland Park Cemetery.
