Larry Schuetz, 91, of Ft. Myers, formerly of Sioux City, passed away at home on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Columbkille Church. Interment will be in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens. To leave a condolence at this difficult time please visit www.fortmyersmemorial.com.

Larry married Jean Desy on Oct. 14, 1950, and from this union, seven children were born. Larry worked at Sue Bee Honey for 35 years. He spent 16 years as a volunteer at the Queen of Peace Shrine in Sioux City. He was very involved with landscaping and development of the grounds. In April of 2009, Larry and Jean moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine in retirement.

He was an active member of St. Boniface and Blessed Sacrament parishes in Sioux City. He was a member of the Sertoma Club and The Knights of Columbus, both Third and Fourth Degree. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to planning the next vacation that usually involved fishing, traveling and frequent family visits.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jean; six children, Paul Schuetz, Matthew (Debbie) Schuetz, Mark (Penny) Schuetz, Margaret Peggy Schuetz, Diane (Jim) Bobier, and Carol (John) Cannaday; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Sr. Bernice Schuetz, Ronald Schuetz, Gertrude (John) Sargent, JoAnn (Jim) Weston, Michael (Marita) Schuetz and Jim (Carol) Schuetz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Justina; son, Steve on Oct. 29, 2003; daughter-in-law, Paula on Nov. 25, 2017; two brothers, Joseph and Raymond; and sisters, Kathleen Port, Dorothy Huebsch and Mary Kollschegg.
