Magnus Johnson was In His Ninety-Fifth Year
Came To Woodbury In 1880Pioneer Born In Sweden in 1825 Settled on Farm Near Lawton Thirty Years Ago, Later Coming to Sioux City
Magnus Johnson, 95 years old, 1120 Twenty-third Street, a pioneer resident of Woodbury County and probably the oldest man in Sioux City, died early yesterday morning of old age.
Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden, September 29, 1825. He came directly from Sweden to Woodbury County in the spring of 1880, when he settled on a farm near Lawton, Iowa.
He retired from farming in 1907 and moved to Sioux City.
He is survived by three children, Mary, Frank and Gus Johnson all residents of Sioux City.
The body is being held at the Anderson Undertaking parlors pending funeral arrangements.
