Lewis H. Francis, 81, 2124 S. St. Mary’s St., died Wednesday morning at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. Edmund E. Bauer of Morningside Christian School will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Francis was born Aug 4, 1891, in Holly Springs. He moved to Climbing Hill and operated his own truck line until 1941. He was employed by the Clark Construction Co. until he retired in 1963 because of poor health.

Mr. Francis married Olive Dobbertin in December 1928. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1941.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Donald of Sergeant Bluff and Richard in Canada; four brothers, George of Manson, Wash., Calvin of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Leonard and Lawrence, both of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Bower of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Olive Jackson of Oto, and seven grandchildren.
