James H Chilton, 1911-1970

James H. Chilton, 58, Oto, died Friday after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Born May 22, 1911 near Hornick, Mr. Chilton was a lifelong resident of the Oto, Climbing Hill and Hornick communities. He married Grace Mulvihil April 15, 1936 in Sioux City. She died in 1956

He married Vera Jackson Sept. 1, 1962 at Oto. He farmed near Oto at the time of death.

Survivors, include the widow; a son, Gary of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Grone of Wayne, Neb.; three stepsons, Charles and Gary Jackson, both at home, and Larry Jackson of Cushing; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard Chilton of Oto; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Anderson of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Nellie Van Wyngarden of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Alfred Larsen of Hornick and eight grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon
