Lawton, Iowa – Emma C. Barth, 91, of Lawton died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Colonial Manor in Kingsley after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton with the Rev. Bruce Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Christy Morningside Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Mrs. Barth was born Aug. 3, 1902, in Lawton, the daughter of Ernest and Doris Meyer. She attended Lawton country schools and was a lifelong resident of the Lawton/Bronson area. She married Orville W. Barth April 20, 1921, in Dakota City.

Mrs. Barth was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Bethel Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Bronson Birthday Club. She was the Bronson news correspondent for the Moville Record for many years.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter and her husband, Dorothy and William ‘Bill’ Goodwin Sr. of Lawton; a son and his wife, Gerald ‘Jerry’ and Shirley Barth of Sioux City; two grandsons; four granddaughters; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and a great grandson, Jason Stevens.

A memorial has been established in her name with Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton.
