Funeral services held Thursday for Andrew C. Bierwirth

Funeral services were held at -:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon for Andrew Claus Bierwirth, 94, lifelong Woodbury County resident. The Rev. Robert Snyder officiated. Burial was made in the Climbing Hill Cemetery under the direction of
the Walter Funeral Home of Anthon.

Mr. Bierwirth died Monday night January 23 at a Correctionville nursing home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1873, in Sioux City. He lived in Sioux City until 1885 when he moved with his parents to a farm near Anthon. He farmed and lived in the Anthon area for the rest of his life. The last 26 years he lived in the town of Anthon.

He married Margaret Muxfeldt May 25, 1902, at Moville. Mrs. Bierwirth died 1965. Mr. Bierwirth was a past school director in Grant Twp.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Fred Tabke of Moville, Mrs. Elwyn Spahn of Sioux City., Mrs. Joseph Phillips of Oto, Mrs. Darrel Campbell of La Crescent, Calif., and Mrs. C.F. Tower of Glendale, Calif., a son, carl of Anthon; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
