Dale B. Hill, 90, of Sioux City, passed away from this life Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dale B. Hill, the son of Byron and Marie (Shinkle) Hill, was born on May 14, 1928, in Sioux City. He graduated from East High School. Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served honorably during World War II. After his discharge, he attended and graduated from Morningside College.

On Sept. 11, 1953, Dale was united in marriage with Elnor Daniel in Luverne, Minn. He was employed by International Harvester and The Navistar dealerships for 42 years, retiring in 1994. Elnor died on Dec. 23, 2005.

Dale was a longtime member of Morningside Presbyterian Church (now Faith United Presbyterian) and the Morningside American Legion Post 697. He was also a member of the Morningside Masonic Lodge 615, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the Abu Bekr Shrine, and the Vintage Wheels Shrine Unit. He and his family also enjoyed a cabin at Lake Okoboji that they owned for 20 years.

Dale is survived by his daughters, Danielle (Ron) Nyman of Ft. Meyers, Fla., and Pamela Orthmann of Waterloo, Iowa; a granddaughter, Keri (Shane) York of Firth, Neb.; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Jack of Firth; a special friend, Barbara Jennings; and many loyal, longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Elnor.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to Faith United Presbyterian Church or Siouxland Hospice.
