Sioux City Man Dies From Injuries at St. Louis
Swept From Bridge Girder

Funeral Services Are Held for Harry Heft, Resident of Sioux City for 12 years—Wife and Two Children Survive Him.

Swept from a girder by a huge hoisting crane used in the construction of a bridge at St. Louis, Missouri, Harry Heft of Sioux City received injuries which caused his death.

Mr. Heft, who was 55 years old, maintained his home at 1407 West Third Street, where his wife and two children, Loren and Edith, reside. Five sisters and two brothers also survive him.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery.

The accident occurred on November 5, on Wednesday.

Born in Galena, Illinois in 1868, Mr. Heft moved at an early age to Council Bluffs, Iowa with his parents. He received his education in the schools of Galena and Council Bluffs. As a young man he engaged in farming.

When 24 years old he married and after spending a few years on Iowa farms, he moved to South Dakota, where he farmed until 12 years ago, at which time he moved to Sioux City.
