Death Claims Nels Nelson
Head of Decorating Firm Dies After Brief Illness; Resident 40 Years

Pneumonia, followed by an illness of only a few days, caused the death Monday of Nels Nelson, 1506 Park Place, a long time resident of Sioux City and for many years the head of the Nelson & Son Decorating Company.

Coming to Sioux City from Denmark in 1883, Mr. Nelson a few years later established a decorating establishment, where he continued in active charge until a short time before his death.

Mr. Nelson was born in Denmark October 22, 1854, being 68 years old at the time of his death.

Funeral services will be held at Graceland Park Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. E. H. Gaynor will officiate.

In addition to his wife, Katherine, he is survived by two sons, Julius H. and Jacob P. Nelson, both of Sioux City, and one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Newman of Sioux City.

The body is being held at the Nelson undertaking parlors.
