Former Coal Dealer Dies
Frederick Schwalm Passes Away at Age 74
Resident of Iowa 45 Years
Funeral Services for Deceased Will Be Held at Nelson’s Parlors Monday Morning – Widow and Five Daughters Survive

Frederick Schwalm, formerly head of the F. Schwalm Coal Company of Sioux City, died Friday at his home, 822 Plymouth Street of senility. Mr. Schwalm was born May 2, 1848 in Germany. At the age of 17 years Mr. Schwalm came to the United States and made his home at Champaign, Illinois. In 1877 he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa and 10 years later came to Sioux City where he has resided ever since. Fifteen years ago he retired from the coal business.

Mr. Schwalm is survived by his wife Mrs. Carolina Schwalm and five daughters, all of whom live in the city. The daughters are Mrs. W.R. Miller, Mrs. Russell Fordyce and Miss Florence, Miss Louise and Miss Lillian Schwalm.

The funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:30 o’clock at Nelson’s funeral parlors, Rev. William Hein of Storm Lake, officiating. Interment will be in Floyd Cemetery.
