Hans Melling, 81, a resident here the last 41 years, died Tuesday in his home, 1001 Irene Street, after a long illness. He was a retired carpenter.
He was born September 25, 1864, in Norway. He came to America at the age of 22 and first resided in Minneapolis and later in Great Falls, Mont., before coming to Sioux City.
Mr. Melling was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Surviving are the widow, Kristine; two sons, Amund and Malvin, both of Sioux City and two sisters in Norway.
The Nelson-Berger Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
