Miss Dorothy Ramsel 1916 - 1939

Miss Dorothy L. Ramsel, 22, of 1023 Jackson, died Wednesday in a local hospital after an extended illness. The body is in the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home.

Miss Ramsel, who came to Sioux City 10 years ago, was born May 9, 1916, at Beresford, South Dakota. She was graduated from Central High five years ago and attended Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Nettie Ramsel of Sioux City, a sister, Miss Evelyn of Sioux City and two brothers, Earl if Sioux City and Archie of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Miss Dorothy L. Ramsel

Funeral services for Miss Dorothy L. Ramsel, 22, of 1023 Jackson, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church with Rev. H.E. Klingberg officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home. Miss Ramsel died Wednesday in a local hospital after an extended illness following an operation.

Pallbearers will be Dr. D.L. McKee, Dan Reed, Bruce Kendell, Kenneth Spayde, C.R. Gustafson and Denny Duffy.

The young woman, cashier in the Jackson Hotel coffee shop, was born May 9, 1916 at Beresford, South Dakota, where she lived until moving here 10 years ago with her mother and sister. She was graduated from Central High in 1933 and attended Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Nettie Ramsel; a sister, Miss Evelyn; two brothers, Archie and Earl and two nephews, all of Sioux City.
