Funeral services for Albertie James “Bert” Small, who died Friday morning in his home, 712 West Fourth, will be conducted Monday at 2:30 at Westcott-Doughty-Chandler Funeral Home. Mr. Small who was ill six months, would have been 63 Monday.
The veteran railroad man was employed by the Milwaukee road 43 years until his retirement because of ill health six months ago. He lived in Sioux City 49 years.
Mr. Small was born in LeMars in 1878. He was married to Minnie Elizabeth Lawrence here November 28, 1900. He was a member of Whitfield Methodist Church, A.O.U.W. lodge and Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Besides Mrs. Small, two sons, Kenneth of Great Falls, Mont., and Herbert of Pittsburgh, Kansas and a niece, Mrs. L.D. Anthony of Sioux City, survive. The sons are expected home for the funeral.
