Thelma Hogue, 84, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 13, 1998 at her daughter’s residence in Jefferson, S.D. following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Marvin J. Boes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Hogue was born September 16, 1913, the daughter of Carl C. and Grace J. (Cates) Pike.

She married Keith “Babe” Hogue on June 27, 1948 in Elk Point, South Dakota. He died October 7, 1981 in Sioux City. She was employed with Toller Drug Store for several years and then with Tommy’s Shoe Store for about 15 years.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and did volunteer work at Marian Health Center for several years.

Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Norma and Richard Watkins of Glendale, Ariz., Connie and Edward McKee of Hot Springs, Ark., Carla and Ron Chapman of Richmond, Kentucky and Lisa and Ken Pottebaum of Jefferson, South Dakota; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michaele Marler; a brother, Rennie Pike and a granddaughter, Shelley Howard.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Layne Delperdang, Tim and Kip Marler and Michael Causland. Other pallbearers will be Robert Belton and Dave Mitchell.
