Ed Sponder, 60, of Fort Mohave, formerly of Sioux City, passed away of natural causes Saturday, April 7, 2018, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, with a rosary at 10:30 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1691 North Oatman Road, in Bullhead City, Ariz. Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m. today at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 2724 Silver Creek Rd., in Bullhead City. Memorial services in Sioux City will be April 20.

Ed was born in Sioux City, on June 12, 1957, to Joe and Florence (Poodie) Sponder. He was a graduate of Sioux City East High and University of Sioux Falls with a degree in business.

Ed was united in marriage to Terri Fitzpatrick on Aug. 11, 1979. Ed spent the first three decades of his career in food service sales in Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Many of those years were as vice president of sales for US Foodservice.

Ed and Terri moved to the Bullhead City area in 2012 to be near their grandkids. Ed brought his dedication and work ethic to a new area of sales, building team Sponder as a hard-working Realtor team, and starting a new office, Sponder and Associates. Ed showed his support and presence in many community groups, such as a director for the Bullhead City/Mohave Valley Board of Realtors, Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, and treasurer for the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terri; his mother, Florence Sponder of Sioux City; daughters, Mandi (Josh) Vissers of Bullhead City, and Dani Jo (Nick) Testa of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Abe, Joel and Eden Vissers of Bullhead City; brother, Tom (Maryl) Sponder of Sioux City; sister, Marijo (Steve) Benson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister-in-law, Jackie (Bob) White of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and nieces and nephews, also of Iowa.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Joe Sponder.
