Richard A. Beauchene, 62, of Sloan, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Community of Christ Church in Sloan. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Richard, the son of Lawrence and Betty Lou (Mogensen) Beauchene, was born on Jan. 18, 1956, in Onawa, Iowa. He graduated from Aberdeen Central in Aberdeen, S.D.. Richard lived in Florida for 32 years before moving to Sloan to take care of his parents. He worked for Orkin Pest Control for more than 30 years.

Richard enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, bowling, and visiting with people. In his younger years, he was a first chair trumpet player. He dedicated his life to his family and really enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He was lovingly known as Boots, Shooshman, and Buddha.

Richard is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Beauchene; three sons, Blake (Brenda) Beauchene, Lance (Jennifer) Beauchene, and Darrell Talada; three daughters, Casey (Billy) Lipscomb, Katie Beauchene, and Stacey Bowerman; one brother, Randy Beauchene; 10 grandchildren; and close friend, Uncle Pete.

He was preceded in death by his father; and life partner, Lynn Little.
