Carol E. Luber, 68, of South Sioux City, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Rex Wentzel officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Grant Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City.

Carol was born on Aug. 14, 1949, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Dorothy (Bailey) Skow. She graduated from Mapleton (Iowa) High School in 1967 and received her cosmetology certificate from Ellis Beauty School in 1969.

Carol married Wayne Luber on July 18, 1970 in Mapleton. They made their home in South Sioux City and were blessed with two children, Chad and Angie. She owned and operated For Beauty's Sake beauty shop in Riverside for more than 30 years. Carol also worked as a cashier at Hy-Vee for seven years and a bank teller at Pinnacle Bank for three years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and enjoyed participating in the bell choir. She was also a member of Baker's Dozen Extension Club and the Bunco Club. She loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren, and attended many of their games and activities. She also enjoyed taking the grandchildren on yearly summer trips and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Luber of South Sioux City; son, Chad (Tricia) Luber of Emerson, Neb.; daughter, Angie Cobb of Sioux City; her mother, Dorothy Skow-Cosh (Al) of Rodney, Iowa; brother, Joe (Sue) Skow of Spencer, Iowa; sister, Marilyn (Steve) Longlee of Rodney; grandchildren, Cade, Carter and Ava Luber, and Trey and Dylan Cobb; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Skow; and in-laws, Lyle and Verna Luber.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for designations to be made at a later time.
