Myron Valmore Allard, 96, of Jefferson, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Bickford Cottage in Sioux City.

Private family burial will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery, Jefferson, with a U.S. Army flag ceremony. Arrangements are under the direction of Kober Funeral Home in Elk Point, S.D. Condolences may be posted online to www.koberfuneralhome.com.

Myron was born on Dec. 5, 1921, to Valmore and Myrtle (Dluzak) Allard. He lived his entire life on the farm originally homesteaded by his great-grandfather, Michael Allard. His only extended absence was during World War II, when he served as a rifleman in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. Myron retired in 1986, whereupon his nephews and grandnephew continued to work the farm.

Myron is survived by 13 nieces and nephews, Renee (Allard) Ries of Norfolk, Neb., Nancy (Allard) Bartek of Sioux City, Steve Allard of Elk Point, Janet Allard of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mike Allard of Elk Point, Jim Allard of Sioux City, Tom Allard of Traverse City, Mich., Jane A. Allard of Jefferson, David Allard of Rapid City, S.D., Gene Allard of Island Lake, Ill., Suzanne (Allard) LaMaack of Windom, Minn., Joseph Allard of Sterling, Va., and Amy (Allard) Carmody of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Allard.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rodney Allard and Alfred Allard; sister, Theresa Allard; and a nephew, Paul Allard.
