Donald C. Ragan, 92, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at a local hospital.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Don’s home at 3 p.m. Friday. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Don was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Altamont, S.D. to Claude and Effie (Porter) Ragan. He attended Leeds High School then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

On June 23, 1945, he married Jean A. Spindler in South Sioux City. She passed away May 20, 2007, in Sioux City. Don worked for I.P.S. for 41 years.

Don enjoyed playing Bingo and Aggravation, gardening and telling jokes.

Survivors include son, Richard Ragan and his wife, Carol of Sioux City; son, Don Ragan Jr. and his wife, Jo of Paxton, Ill.; son, Bob Ragan and Theresa Powers of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Robin (Tony) Prado, Paul (Stefanie) Ragan, Ann (Ron) Howard, Jamie Ragan and Shane Ragan; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and nine siblings.
