Jay A. LaScala, 59, of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

A memorial visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Jay was born the son of John and Marilyn (Carpenter) LaScala on March 24, 1958, in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City East School. He lived in Sioux City before moving to Sioux Falls, where he lived until he became ill. He managed Iowa Paint and also worked for the South Dakota Schools in Sioux Falls.

Jay was a Green Bay Packers fan, an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

Jay is survived by his mother, Marilyn LaScala of Sioux City; two brothers, Don (Deb) LaScala and Keith LaScala of Sioux City; two nephews, Josh Lowry and Taylor (Kaylee) LaScala; and one niece, Lacey (Sam) LaScala, all of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his father, John.
