Gordon Harry Carlson, 56, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Monday, November 10, 1997, at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Carlson was born October 18, 1941, near Washta, Iowa, the son of Harry E. and Virgine M. (Samuelson) Carlson.

He served in the U.S. Navy during peacetime.

He married Judy Millsap. He later married Lynette F. (Case) Bock on January 13, 1990 in Sioux City.

Mr. Carlson was employed as a plumber.

He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 18.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Ryan of Sunrise, Florida and Jason of Sioux City, three daughters, Lisa Carlson of North Carolina and Dawn Carlson and Joni and her husband, Steve Ford, all of Sunrise, his mother of Aurelia, three step-sons, Tim Bock and his wife, Joni of Merrill, Iowa, Sheyenne Bock of Newton, Iowa and Brian Bock of Sioux City, five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Carol Jean Johnson.
