Marian Maxine Miller, 91, of South Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at River Hills Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at River Hills Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Marian Maxine Parker was born on Oct. 25, 1926, to Lee and Millie Fern (Church) Parker. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class of 1944 from South Sioux City High School.

She joined her life in marriage to Jacque Miller on Dec. 13, 1944 in South Sioux City. They celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss before Jacque passed away in 2012.

Marian worked for IPS and at Charlie Miller Body Shop. Marian was an integral part of the family business, Sioux Plating Co. from the time it opened in 1959 until she finally retired at the age of 80 in 2006.

Marian was extremely involved in her church and community. She was a long time member TOPS, and organizer of many Class of '44 lunches and family reunions.

Marian had a deep love for music. She played piano and organ for her church as well as a member of the bell choir. She was also a singer with the SSC Choralation group. Marian was an amazing cook. She loved to cook for her family, friends, and workers at Sioux Plating. She hosted weekly Sunday dinners for her entire family for many years. Her pecan pies and roasts will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Steven and Sharon Miller of Rapid City, S.D., David and Shery Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tom and Darlys Miller of Dakota Dunes; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Miller, Bryan Miller, David W. (Miriam) Miller, Nicholas (Hayley) Miller, Stephanie (Michael) Greer, Stashia (Joel) Casimir, Lindsey Haase, Nikki (Jeremy) McLaughlin, Molly Miller, Mc Kayla Miller and Syndney Miller; and 21 great-grandchildren, Eric and Sean Miller, Toni Jo Boggs, Bryant Miller and Bethany Miller, Jacque and Isabella Miller, Asher, Lydia, Josiah, and Micah Miller, Ethan Hollinger, Ella and Emilia Haase, Raleigh, Carter, Camden, and Reagan McLaughlin, Jackson and Nora Miller.

Marian was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; three brothers, Frank, Dick, and Fred; two sisters, Lucille Archer and Evelyn Cox; her loving husband, Jacque; an infant child; and a great-grandchild, Ean Alexander Haase.
