David M. Blanchard, 63, of Salix, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 surrounded by loved ones at his residence.

Services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2 at Glendale Baptist Church in Sioux City. A visitation with family present will begin one hour prior to service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

The family invites you to a luncheon following the service at the church.

Dave was born on Sept. 8, 1954 in Sioux City to Myron R. and Darlene (Peck) Blanchard. Dave married Pattie Jo DeRaad in 1988.

Dave started his working career at Economy Market in Sioux City, working there for many years. He later worked as a supervisor for Mass Merchandise in South Sioux City. He then worked at Huebsch Wholesale in Sioux City as a supervisor, until retiring in 1989 due to his declining health. Dave was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed listening to music. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Pattie Jo (DeRaad) Blanchard; son, Lee Blanchard of Sloan, Iowa; daughters, Angela Blanchard, Lisa (Troy) Krumvieda, Crystal (Jose Alvarez) Hernandez, Barbara (Tracy) Bohlke, Kristy (Dan) Fisher and Holly (Willie Williams) Thomas, all of Sioux City; brother, Gary (Lynette) Blanchard of Hinton, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Roy and Nora (Lasher) Blanchard and Vernon and Naomi (Hedlund) Peck.
