Donna J. Mennen, 89, of Sioux City and Sergeant Bluff area, formerly of California, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital of congestive heart failure.

Graveside services will be at El Camino Memorial Cemetery in San Diego, Calif. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Donna Johnson was born May 30, 1915, in Sergeant Bluff, the daughter of Henry and Christine (Nelson) Johnson. She grew up in Sergeant Bluff and attended school there. She attended Morningside College.

She married Frank Mennen on April 11, 1951, in San Marino, Calif. He died Nov. 29, 1988.

She lived in Sergeant Bluff, later moved to California and returned to Siouxland. She was a dental assistant for several years, then later a homemaker.

She was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed traveling extensively and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two nephews and their wives, Dean and Lori Johnson of Los Altos, Calif., and Todd and Cindi Johnson of Cohutta, Ga.; and a niece and her husband, Laurie and Dave Glasnapp of Lytton, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Raymond Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Norma Johnson.
