Kenneth R. Van Cleave, 68, of Omaha, Nebraska, died on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Rush Family Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Kenneth Raymond Van Cleave was born on November 17, 1948, to Raymond James and Edith Martha (Stark) Van Cleave. He graduated from Westwood High School in Sloan, Iowa.

He moved to Omaha, where he worked for U.S. Supply which later became Ferguson Plumbing. He then worked as a salesman for Briggs Plumbing for fifteen years, until he took a leave of absence three weeks ago due to health issues.

Kenneth enjoyed collecting old cars, and through this he had the opportunity to meet Jay Leno. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and traveled to watch many races in person. A highlight of his life was meeting Richard Petty and having the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

Survivors include four siblings and their spouses, James (Sue Wessling) Van Cleave of Mapleton, IA, Diane (Kenneth) Deck of Newmanstown, PA, Mary Ann (Randy) Lussier of Hubbard, NE, and Debbie (Bill) Mead of Charter Oak, IA; one brother-in-law, Vern Monahan of Council Bluffs, IA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edith Van Cleave; one sister, Ruby Monahan; one brother, Roger Van Cleave; and one nephew, Kyle Van Cleave.
