Mrs. Blanche V. Leney, 79, of Smithland, died Wednesday night at a Sioux City hospital after a one-week illness.

She was born December 21, 1883 at Morrisville, Illinois. She was married to Frank J. Leney on September 29, 1915. Mr. Leney died February 19, 1961.

Survivors include two sons, F. Jewell of Alvin, Texas and W. Richard of Los Angeles; three step-daughters, Mrs. H.H. Strifert of Sioux City, Mrs. K. D. Hall of Refugio, Texas, and Mrs. J.M. Hurd of Des Moines; two half - brothers, Ralph Smith of Smithland and Floyd Smith of Los Angeles and one grandchild.

The body was taken to the Willman Funeral Home at Rodney, Iowa. Burial will be in Smithland.
