William Joseph "Bill" Bolger, 61, of Sioux City, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at his home.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with military rites provided by the United States Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

William Joseph "Bill" Bolger was born on April 30, 1956, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Frank and Elenor (Wayson) Bolger. He grew up in Long Island, N.Y., and attended school in Northport, N.Y., which he graduated from. He joined the military and served both in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He was a Gulf War veteran. In 2006, he moved to Sioux City.

He was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he was very much involved in the church's activities. He liked being outside taking care of the lawn, and he enjoyed going bowling.

Bill is survived by his sister, Theresa (Jerry) Delzell; nephew, Derek Delzell; and niece, Mara Delzell, all of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are preferred for his future interment in New York.
