Dorothy Jean Wanned, 77, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Dorothy was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Sioux City, to Glenn and Anna (Swanson) Work. She attended Sioux City Schools.

She married Harry A. Wanned on Dec. 19, 1947, in Sioux City. Dorothy was a homemaker.

She was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Wanned of Sioux City; a son, Douglas Wanned and his wife, Ginger of Westfield, Iowa; three daughters, Joyce Fredrickson, Ramona Wanned and Rose Wanned, all of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Jenni-Lee and Jameson Wanned and Aja Simpson; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl and Art Work; and a son, Edward G. Wanned.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Coleman, Moses Simpson, Jeff Sturges, Teddy Clark, Jimmy Wanned and Larry Vore.
