Veronica J. Koebel, 91, of Moville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at her home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Moville, with the Monsignor R. Mark Duchaine officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary service at 6:45 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nicklas D. Veronica J. Koebel was born on Dec. 1, 1925, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Rosa (Zubradt) and Daniel Kennedy. She graduated from Storm Lake St. Mary's High School. After high school, she worked as a roller skating carhop. Later in her life, she worked as a bookkeeper at Fullerton Lumber. Her main occupation was that of homemaker.

She was united in marriage to Leo J. Koebel on Aug. 6, 1945 in Storm Lake. They were blessed with nine children. They raised their family in Fonda, Iowa, Tyndall, S.D., and Moville, where Veronica had lived the last 51 years.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, where she was a volunteer for the Guild and the PieceMakers. She was supportive of her children's many activities and volunteered for The Community Basket. She enjoyed tending to her houseplants, canning, quilting, camping and watching Danny O'Donnell videos and listening to his music. She loved family time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Dan (Sharon) Koebel of Redmond, Wash., Dave (Judi) Koebel of Omaha, and John (Kathy) Koebel of Sioux City; five daughters, Rosemary (Ray) Klemmensen of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Kathy Myres of Moville, Linda (Mark) Burke of Norwalk, Iowa, Paula (Bryan) Jensen of Elgin, Neb., and Diane (Terry) Pilar of Moville; 23 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and brother, Joe (Elaine) Kennedy of Omaha.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo in 1995; brothers, Pat Kennedy and John Kennedy; sisters, Marie Kennedy and Frances Vernia; daughter, Elaine Koebel; granddaughter, Theresa Myres; grandson, Nicholas Pilar; and daughter-in-law, Trudi Koebel.
