Maxine O. Fachman, 90, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 4 p.m. by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and a vigil at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Maxine was born March 27, 1927, in Sioux City, to Roy and Hattie (Berke) Westman. After graduating from Central High School in 1945, she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for five years.

On Sept. 9, 1948, she married John M. “Jack” Fachman. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker to their five children. During their 60-year marriage, Max and Jack traveled extensively and enjoyed life to the fullest. Judge John Fachman passed away Sept. 8, 2009.

Maxine was a former member of the Church of the Nativity and currently a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Maxine loved angels and had an amazing collection in her home. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and crafts. Her favorite pastimes included traveling, garage sales and casino gambling. Maxine also volunteered for many organizations including The Bargain Center and Crossroads Women’s Shelter.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Rita and René Machado of Comayagua, Honduras, Alice and Gene Mollet of Jefferson, S.D., Mary Fachman Weiner and Gregory Weiner of Chandler, Ariz., Mark and Cynthia Fachman of McCook Lake, S.D., and David and Karen Fachman of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Ruth Ann Richey of Dallas, Texas, and Janet Rose of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Rita Burwell of Burnsville, Minn.; and 12 grandchildren, Nicol Machado, Amy Machado, Michael Machado, Melissa Dawahare, Corri Rubida, Gina Mitchell, E.J. Mollet, Andrew Weiner, Roy Fachman, Sara Fachman, Holly Fachman and Nicklaus Fachman; and eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Karly, Jaxson, Knox, Parker, Kenley, Aspen and Willow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margaret LaRocca, Alice Hedberg and Robert Westman; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Richey, Tom LaRocca and Steven Rose.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Crossroads Women and Children’s Shelter, 1307 Court St., Sioux City, IA 51105
